About Us

About Our Childhood Cancer Nonprofit

In 2011, our founder, Dave Cantin, was diagnosed with leukemia. After receiving treatment including chemotherapy, Dave beat cancer, but was motivated to do something for children around the country suffering from childhood cancers. He knew that the best place to start was by working with auto dealership groups. All over the country, car dealerships have long sponsored many kinds of worthy community activities. Dave reasoned that if a large number of dealerships could have their attention turned to the problem of pediatric cancers, they could make a significant contribution to this fight.

DCG Giving began as DCG Gives Back, a program in which automotive dealership M&A transactions were matched up with a pediatric cancer charity nearby the dealership. Although donating a portion of the proceeds from each transaction proved effective in helping these organizations, there was still so much more that could be done.

Now, DCG Giving has become a nonprofit in its own right, with a focus on connecting the automotive industry, and all other compassionate people across the country, to the same local childhood cancer charities that have been served by DCG Gives Back.
